I was hearing about so-called expert systems for decades, but now suddenly, they have actually arrived. The race is on to bring the LLMs to the smartphone into your pocket. How might LLMs transform a consumers ability to better diagnose and manage their health conditions? Artificial intelligence (AI) is rapidly changing the healthcare landscape. In recent months, there has been a growing interest in the use of AI for medical diagnosis, drug discovery and clinical services. AI-powered systems are being developed that can analyze large amounts of medical data to identify patterns and make predictions about disease. “We figured out how to make humans scale,” Emad Mostaque, founder and CEO of Stability AI, told an audience at Goldman Sachs 2023 Disruptive Technology Symposium in London. Mostaque offered several predictions about the impact that AI will soon have on business and society — with change coming in entertainment, education, medicine and of course the IT industry itself. Citing Google’s recent success in optimizing its large language model to answer medical questions, he said “We finally have a single file that’s as good as a human doctor,”.
