Is Twitter OpenSource their Algorithm?

After writing few stories on machine learning, Natural Language Processing and AI technologies, today I thought take a different topic. What changes are expected after entry of tech savy billionaire Elon Musk into Twitter’s board room. Last week, the billionaire Tesla Motors boss and libertarian “free speech absolutist” Elonmusk has become the largest share holder in Twitter and board member.

I first sawTwitter in a conference in Masocone Center, San Francisco may be around 2005 -2006. Probably they are load testing their product. They were asking us to tweet where are you and what sessions are you in to your friends in 140 characters. That was probably their initial usecase. When I saw their logo, I recalled the anciant ways of communications thru parrots. We tie a piece of peper to parrot’s leg, it used to deliver. At that point, I thought this is a great idea. In fact, I learned and update my tech knowledge from this social media, Twitter. My favorite!!! On the face of it, he is not only prolific user of Twitter but also has 80.9mn followers. I am guessing he may make some changes to not only inside comapny culture but also to the user interface. Once the tweet is sent, there is no way to edit or update it. One has to delete and recreate. My expectation is that a disrupter like Mr. Musk will catalyse positive changes in Twitter, which as company gone thru many ups and downs and slow to innovate.
